António Moutinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cláudio Vieira, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. The audience was convinced that Cláudio Vieira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but António Moutinho was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. If Cláudio Vieira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 25 minutes, Joel Cruz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Torneira's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Cruz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in SC Torneira's zone, Cláudio Vieira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. António Moutinho came out of the goal and Cláudio Vieira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 30th match minute, SC Torneira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Trindade to maneuver through the defense. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Armindo Lopes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. António Moutinho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexandre Aguiar in the 53rd minute of the match. Cláudio Vieira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but António Moutinho made a huge save. After having played for 61 minutes, Armindo Lopes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Torneira's supporters crossed their fingers, but Armindo Lopes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Bernardo Costa fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Teira's protests and gave Bernardo Costa a yellow card for diving instead. In the 66th minute, Bernardo Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cláudio Vieira got free with António Moutinho in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Armindo Lopes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Filipe Sousa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pedro Bessa struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Filipe Sousa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Torneira. In the 84th match minute, SC Teira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Francisco Anjos to maneuver through the defense. SC Torneira were awarded a corner in the 88th minute after SC Teira's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Viriato Ramos took the corner. It was a well-played corner which Miguel Trindade managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Cláudio Vieira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without António Moutinho having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched SC Teira eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
