After 12 minutes of play, Coroados FC's João Miranda made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Diamantino Matias was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sebastião Simões might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Diamantino Matias. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sebastião Simões ran back to his position shaking his head. If Lourenço Morais had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rosais's Paulo Lisboa suffered a sprained foot after 21 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Ricardo Pinto charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ricardo Pinto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Rosais booed when Coroados FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricardo Pinto didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpected shot in the 25th minute by Lourenço Morais got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The supporters of Rosais booed when Coroados FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eusébio Castro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Diamantino Matias was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lourenço Morais could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but António Gonçalves made a huge save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sebastião Simões made a kick off. If Filipe Campos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. António Gonçalves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lourenço Morais in the 60th minute of play. In the 62nd minute of the match Rosais got a corner. Coroados FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jaime Freitas ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 65th match minute, Rosais was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexandre Neto to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Sebastião Simões managed to get in a good position for a shot. Coroados FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Sebastião Simões was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Diamantino Matias breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
