Carnapete's Marco Leão got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 11 minutes into the match, Carnapete's goal looked a bit too open when Artur Machado came free, but Delfim Faro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Marco Leão's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Júlio Dantas was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. Marco Leão was extremely unlucky when he, in the 21st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. If Marco Leão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. SC Azedeira's Artur Machado got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Júlio Dantas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marco Leão in the 31st minute of the match. José Cabral placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Joaquim Henriques kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Artur Machado in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Delfim Faro saved Carnapete from getting behind. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Marco Leão made the kick off in the second half. After 56 minutes, Rui Barbosa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Azedeira and the Carnapete players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 55th minute, one of SC Azedeira:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for SC Azedeira. The referee gave Carnapete a penalty, 58 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Paulo Leiria, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of SC Azedeira's Júlio Dantas. 2-0. 66 minutes into the match, SC Azedeira's goal looked a bit too open when Nuno Barbosa came free, but Júlio Dantas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gustavo Alves's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Delfim Faro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustavo Alves in the 72nd minute of play forced Carnapete's goalkeeper Delfim Faro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, SC Azedeira's João Henriques got a free kick in the 74th minute. After a defensive mix-up in SC Azedeira's zone, Nuno Barbosa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Júlio Dantas came out of the goal and Nuno Barbosa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 80 minutes into the match, Carnapete's Marco Leão sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Júlio Dantas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustavo Alves in the 83rd minute of play forced Carnapete's goalkeeper Delfim Faro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marco Leão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Júlio Dantas having to interfere. Júlio Dantas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco Leão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. João Henriques charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed João Henriques the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 90th minute, João Henriques hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Delfim Faro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustavo Alves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carnapete's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Gustavo Alves 100 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-2. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
