An unexpectedly hard shot by Adelino Barbosa in the 3rd minute of play forced SC Fatacos's goalkeeper Jorge Gonçalves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Amílcar Paiva hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in SC Alcorvel's zone, Mário Cardoso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marco Lopes came out of the goal and Mário Cardoso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adelino Barbosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 13 minutes, Mário Cardoso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Fatacos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mário Cardoso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 16th minute Adelino Barbosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge Gonçalves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in SC Fatacos's zone, Adelino Barbosa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jorge Gonçalves came out of the goal and Adelino Barbosa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. SC Alcorvel's Adelino Barbosa got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jacinto Coimbra's late challenge caught a SC Fatacos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jacinto Coimbra helped the player get up and apologised. 29 minutes into the game, one of SC Alcorvel:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Jorge Gonçalves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adelino Barbosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. In the 46th minute Mário Cardoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Lopes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The SC Alcorvel players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. SC Fatacos were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eusébio Valente was the one to do the kick off. In the 58th match minute, SC Fatacos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emílio Borges to maneuver through the defense. After 74 minutes, Joel Pacheco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Alcorvel and the SC Fatacos players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 75th minute, Joel Pacheco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, SC Alcorvel's Marco Lopes got control of the ball when Mário Cardoso tried to sneak it across the goal line. SC Alcorvel's Marco Lopes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eusébio Valente in the 78th minute of play. In the 80th match minute, SC Fatacos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mário Cardoso to maneuver through the defense. Marco Lopes acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 89th minute, took the ball on the long shot from António Guarda.
