Augusto Oliveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Henriques, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cláudio Sá received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Carlos Matias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 7th minute, Joel Ferreira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sandro Guerreiro's late challenge caught a Chan's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sandro Guerreiro helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 10th minute of the game. One of Balazeima:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Chan:s goal. In the 13th minute there was a penalty for Chan. Joel Ferreira stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Augusto Oliveira. 1-0. David Vieira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Matias having to interfere. Artur Moreira hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Balazeima's David Vieira managed to work through Chan's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. David Vieira dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. After having played for 29 minutes, Cláudio Sá managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Balazeima's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cláudio Sá was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Rogério Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 33 minutes, Gustavo Abreu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Balazeima and the Chan players grew even worse after the yellow card. 41 minutes into the match, Chan's goal looked a bit too open when Cláudio Sá came free, but Carlos Matias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristóvão Vaz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cristóvão Vaz was the one to do the kick off. Cristóvão Vaz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augusto Oliveira having to interfere. Cristóvão Vaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlos Matias made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Cláudio Sá sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Artur Moreira in the 74th minute of play forced Balazeima's goalkeeper Augusto Oliveira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the last second Carlos Matias throw himself and got hold of the ball when David Vieira in the 77thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Artur Moreira during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Chan getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Artur Moreira hit a great ball. In the 82nd minute, Gustavo Abreu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Balazeima fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Sérgio Paredes charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sérgio Paredes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 87 minutes into the match, Chan's goalkeeper Carlos Matias had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by David Dantas. In the 88th match minute, Chan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sérgio Paredes to maneuver through the defense. David Vieira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Carlos Matias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristóvão Vaz struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Augusto Oliveira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chan. In the 95th minute, Carlos Machado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 96 played minutes Balazeima got a freekick which was hit by Lucas Silva. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
