Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Sebastião Gaspar made the kick off which started today's match. After 5 minutes of play, Recreio's Alexandre Morais made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rui Leal was left in no man's land by his defense there! When SC Quintinha's Álvaro Aguiar in the 10th minute got a chance for a shot 10th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Recreio's goalie prevented a goal. SC Quintinha's Álvaro Aguiar got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 14 minutes, Paulo Neves mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Recreio and the SC Quintinha players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Álvaro Aguiar in the 27th minute of play forced Recreio's goalkeeper Carlos Reis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Recreio's zone, Álvaro Aguiar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carlos Reis came out of the goal and Álvaro Aguiar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match clock showed 31 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Paulo Soares sped through Recreio's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Carlos Reis. Carlos Reis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Álvaro Aguiar in the 35th minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Álvaro Aguiar to strike the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes Recreio got a freekick which was hit by Duarte Moura. In the 54th minute, Paulo Soares made a precise shot to the right of Carlos Reis. Recreio's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Paulo Soares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Carlos Reis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 59th match minute, Recreio was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexandre Morais to maneuver through the defense. Recreio's Carlos Reis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Álvaro Aguiar in the 60th minute of play. SC Quintinha's Paulo Soares got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Álvaro Aguiar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Carlos Reis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Álvaro Aguiar came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the SC Quintinha fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Álvaro Aguiar couldn't finish the play. Rui Leal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Simão Pinho in the 69th minute of play. If Sebastião Gaspar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Júlio Soares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Carlos Reis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Recreio's Carlos Reis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Álvaro Aguiar in the 82nd minute of play. SC Quintinha's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
