One of Casteleiro:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Cabecinho FC:s goal. A collision led to Casteleiro getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Carlos Guerreiro hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abel Valente in the 28th minute of play forced Cabecinho FC's goalkeeper Daniel Gomes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Delfim Veiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Casteleiro booed when Cabecinho FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Basílio Santos didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joel Mota was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Delfim Veiga in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg João Guerreiro saved Casteleiro from getting behind. Pedro Sá recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Abel Valente fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Gomes having to interfere. João Guerreiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Mota, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Casteleiro's Abel Valente got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eusébio Figueiredo struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Daniel Gomes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Casteleiro. Gustavo Pinho hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Casteleiro's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
