Albertino Borges took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Amorim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 30th minute, Paulo Amorim ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Albertino Borges was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Albertino Borges showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Amorim in the 35th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorge Amaro in the 38th minute of play forced Socorro's goalkeeper Albertino Borges to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 40 minutes into the game, Paulo Amorim cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Albertino Borges was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 44 minutes into the match, SC Ardegao's goalkeeper Adolfo Barros had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Afonso Aleixo. Socorro's Afonso Aleixo got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rui Nunes in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adolfo Barros saved SC Ardegao from getting behind. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Ardegao's goalkeeper Adolfo Barros, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Afonso Aleixo in the 64th minute of play forced SC Ardegao's goalkeeper Adolfo Barros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Manuel Gueifão's late challenge caught a Socorro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Socorro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Ardegao the free kick. In the 82nd match minute, Socorro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jaime Trindade to maneuver through the defense. Jorge Amaro in the 83rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Albertino Borges, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After 87 played minutes Socorro got a freekick which was hit by Diogo Costa. A hard shot by Manuel Gueifão from long distance, 88 minutes into the match, got Albertino Borges's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Albertino Borges was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Vicente Mendes showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 90 minute of play. The SC Ardegao players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
