Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Bruno Mendes took the kick off in the first half of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Lúcio Ferreira kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Delfim Moreira. That made the score 1-0 in the 2 minute of play. Jaime Paiva hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. In the 11th minute, António Resende reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Delfim Moreira. The goal made the score 2-0. António Resende fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Delfim Moreira having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by António Resende in the 20th minute of play forced SC Almogarve's goalkeeper Delfim Moreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, SC Almogarve's Delfim Moreira got control of the ball when Lúcio Ferreira tried to sneak it across the goal line. Eusébio Resende took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mário Esteves. Mário Esteves dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Lúcio Ferreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Delfim Moreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luís Magalhães got free with Delfim Moreira in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 31 minutes into the match, SC Almogarve's goal looked a bit too open when António Resende came free, but Delfim Moreira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 31st minute, António Resende made a precise shot to the right of Delfim Moreira. SC Almogarve's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Lúcio Ferreira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Delfim Moreira made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Amílcar Aleixo during the 38th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 39th minute, Amílcar Aleixo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. António Resende was extremely unlucky when he, in the 41st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 43rd minute, SC Almogarve's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Lúcio Ferreira fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. António Resende sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when António Resende made the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, SC Almogarve's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Magalhães came free, but Delfim Moreira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 58 played minutes Gaia got a freekick which was hit by Jaime Paiva. Delfim Moreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from António Resende in the 62nd minute of play. In the 64th minute, SC Almogarve's Bruno Mendes dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-2. Mário Esteves made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eusébio Resende in the 68th minute. With an all-out effort, SC Almogarve's Mário Esteves threw himself towards the right post 69 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Bruno Mendes, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Amílcar Aleixo hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. In the 74th minute, Luís Magalhães hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Gaia's Lúcio Ferreira in the 79th minute got a chance for a shot 79th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SC Almogarve's goalie prevented a goal. Delfim Moreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lúcio Ferreira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. António Resende struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Delfim Moreira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gaia. When Gaia's António Resende in the 93rd minute got a chance for a shot 93rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SC Almogarve's goalie prevented a goal. Delfim Moreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from António Resende, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the SC Almogarve players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Gaia.
