Eusébio Assis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vítor Almeida having to make a save. In the 7th minute, Mário Leite left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Guirela FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 10th minute, Eusébio Assis made a precise shot to the right of Vítor Almeida. Gaviaosinho FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. In the 14th minute Jorge Gueifão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raul Bessa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Gaviaosinho FC's Augusto Sousa got a free kick in the 16th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mário Leite in the 18th minute of play forced Gaviaosinho FC's goalkeeper Vítor Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Jorge Gueifão's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Raul Bessa was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. 36 minutes into the match, Guirela FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Gueifão came free, but Raul Bessa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Gaviaosinho FC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Gonçalo Soares hit a great ball. Vítor Almeida showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mário Leite in the 43rd minute of the match. After 48 minutes, Carlos Resende mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Guirela FC and the Gaviaosinho FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Guirela FC's Carlos Resende got a free kick in the 48th minute. A hard shot by Henrique Vieira from long distance, 49 minutes into the match, got Raul Bessa's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After the first half Guirela FC were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jorge Gueifão stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mário Leite fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vítor Almeida having to interfere. Augusto Sousa hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Mário Leite struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Vítor Almeida didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guirela FC. In the 61st minute, Gonçalo Soares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 63 minutes, Mário Leite managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guirela FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mário Leite was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Eusébio Assis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guirela FC's Carlos Resende got his second yellow card of the match in the 66th minute. The referee ordered Carlos Resende off the ground. A collision led to Guirela FC getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Carlos Resende hit a great ball. Diamantino Antunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raul Bessa having to interfere. Mário Leite fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vítor Almeida having to interfere. Sandro Carvalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jorge Gueifão in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Raul Bessa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Raul Bessa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorge Gueifão in the 81st minute of the match. Diamantino Antunes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Raul Bessa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Gaviaosinho FC's zone, João Assis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vítor Almeida came out of the goal and João Assis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vítor Almeida made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mário Leite in the 91st minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Guirela FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
