In the 11th minute, Rodrigo Fontes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alexandre Mota fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amadeu Figueiredo having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 18 minutes, Alexandre Mota put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Amadeu Figueiredo. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rui Pinto during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Carvalha booed when SC Freitas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rui Pinto didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Paulo Brito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alexandre Mota sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vítor Moutinho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Artur Anjos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. João Torres kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. 35 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Carvalha's Carlos Rodrigues fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. If Alexandre Mota had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 46 minutes, Vítor Moutinho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carvalha's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vítor Moutinho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. During the 48th minute of the match João Torres completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave João Torres a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, SC Freitas's João Torres got a free kick in the 48th minute. After having played for 50 minutes, Carlos Rodrigues managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carvalha's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Rodrigues was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

In the 59th minute, Carlos Rodrigues got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 62 played minutes Carvalha got a freekick which was hit by Raul Barbosa. After having played for 65 minutes, Alexandre Mota managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Freitas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexandre Mota was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Amadeu Figueiredo came out of the goal in the 69th minute to try and stop a shot by SC Freitas's Paulo Brito. But to his dismay, Paulo Brito quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Paulo Brito managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Freitas's supporters rose to their feet, but Paulo Brito was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amadeu Figueiredo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 77 played minutes SC Freitas got a freekick which was hit by Álvaro Matos. When Paulo Brito came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the SC Freitas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulo Brito couldn't finish the play. After 97 played minutes SC Freitas got a freekick which was hit by Alexandre Mota. In the 99th minute, Vítor Moutinho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
