Rui Gaspar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from António Araújo, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Joaquim Silva was out of position in the 20 minute of play, and Raul Ferreira capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Raul Ferreira really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Amadeu Moniz kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. In the 26th minute, Abel Reis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee ignored Leirados's protests and gave Tiago Dantas a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Leirados getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Tiago Dantas hit a great ball. In the 39thth minute of the game Raul Ferreira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Leirados's Joaquim Silva was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Joaquim Silva made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abel Reis in the 41st minute. During the 42nd minute of the match Tiago Dantas completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Tiago Dantas a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Cardosos FC booed when Leirados was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiago Dantas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joaquim Silva made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Abel Reis sent off a good shot on target. After some careless play in the Cardosos FC defense, Armando Assis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rui Gaspar. The Cardosos FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rui Gaspar should have stopped the shot. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Raul Ferreira to strike the kick off in the second half.
