Delfim Almeida, 4 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The Vandoma FC fans' excitement grew in the 8th match minute when Vandoma FC's Paulo Campos looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Paulo Campos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hugo Magalhães read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. If Nuno Correia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 16 minutes into the match, Paulo Campos notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of SC Funcheira's Hugo Magalhães. Hugo Magalhães was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Hugo Magalhães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nuno Correia in the 21st minute of play. In the 23rd minute of the match Eusébio Branco shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hugo Magalhães showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Campos in the 27th minute of play forced SC Funcheira's goalkeeper Hugo Magalhães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Vandoma FC getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Nuno Correia hit a great ball. Nuno Correia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo Magalhães having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Nuno Correia put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Hugo Magalhães. When Nuno Correia came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Vandoma FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nuno Correia couldn't finish the play. The SC Funcheira players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Vandoma FC were winning 0-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nuno Correia was the one to do the kick off. Nuno Correia was extremely unlucky when he, in the 52nd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. A hard shot 54 in the game by Paulo Campos from a close distance when the talented Hugo Magalhães managed to make a qualified save. SC Funcheira's players were relieved. 56 minutes into the match, Adelino Luz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Armando Antunes. Vandoma FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adelino Luz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. After 60 played minutes SC Funcheira got a freekick which was hit by David Paiva. In the 62nd minute, Paulo Campos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Adelino Luz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armando Antunes having to interfere. Nuno Correia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Hugo Magalhães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Vandoma FC's Joel Nunes got a free kick in the 73rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Simões in the 75th minute of play forced Vandoma FC's goalkeeper Armando Antunes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Adelino Luz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Adelino Luz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 82 minutes, Paulo Campos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vandoma FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulo Campos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Nuno Correia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Nuno Correia came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Vandoma FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nuno Correia couldn't finish the play.
