In the 10th minute, Bento Leão got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Adelino Luz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fernando Simões hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 17th minute of the game. One of Louro:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of SC Funcheira:s goal. The goalkeeper, João Viegas, was totally fooled by SC Funcheira's Delfim Almeida, who 19 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After a rather tough play, SC Funcheira's David Paiva got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Afonso Pereira struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Hugo Magalhães didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Louro. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Francisco Simões in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck João Viegas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Louro's João Viegas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisco Simões in the 30th minute of play. Hugo Magalhães showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bento Leão, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. If Adelino Luz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 44 minutes, Francisco Simões managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Funcheira's supporters crossed their fingers, but Francisco Simões was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Afonso Assis kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 52nd minute, Bento Leão fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Hugo Magalhães, passed just outside the right post. Thanks to some nice moves Afonso Pereira could shoot a difficult shot in the 57th minute, which Hugo Magalhães however easily saved by the left post. Bento Leão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Hugo Magalhães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 73 played minutes Louro got a freekick which was hit by Joel Setúbal. When Joel Setúbal fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Louro's protests and gave Joel Setúbal a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Louro getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Joel Setúbal hit a great ball. In the 77th minute, Joel Setúbal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Afonso Pereira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo Magalhães having to interfere. If Adelino Luz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. For all the effort they put into the match, the Louro players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for SC Funcheira.
