António Almeida took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lúcio Garcia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 4th minute, Américo Guerreiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Xavier Barros stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of André Queirós's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lúcio Garcia in the 8th minute of play forced Arroeiras FC's goalkeeper António Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sebastião Pedroso charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sebastião Pedroso the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Sebastião Pedroso kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Arroeiras FC's goalkeeper António Almeida, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 23 minutes into the match, Arroeiras FC's goalkeeper António Almeida had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ricardo Pinheiro. 24 minutes into the game, Bruno Ferreira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Macieiros FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Arroeiras FC the free kick. Artur Esteves kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Daniel Viegas was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 28th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 29th minute, Américo Guerreiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sebastião Pedroso kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Xavier Barros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from André Queirós, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. The audience was convinced that Lúcio Garcia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but António Almeida was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lúcio Garcia in the 44th minute of play forced Arroeiras FC's goalkeeper António Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jorge Valente during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When Sebastião Pedroso was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 59 minutes had been played. In the 60th match minute, Arroeiras FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastião Pedroso to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Macieiros FC's Xavier Barros got control of the ball when Américo Guerreiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 69th minute, Américo Guerreiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 72nd minute Ricardo Pinheiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but António Almeida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Xavier Barros made an important save on a dangerous shot by Américo Guerreiro in the 74th minute. 76 minutes into the match, Arroeiras FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ricardo Pinheiro came free, but António Almeida reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lúcio Garcia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. António Almeida tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 86th minute, Lúcio Garcia left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Macieiros FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. After having played for 93 minutes, Lúcio Garcia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Macieiros FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lúcio Garcia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ricardo Pinheiro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but António Almeida read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. Macieiros FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
