Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cristiano Moniz to make the kick off. Cristiano Moniz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Samaioes's goalkeeper Óscar Almeida, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mário Tavares charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Nuno Nascimento hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Alvarenga's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
