Alexandre Neves stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of António Magalhães's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sérgio Cardoso in the 23rd minute of play forced Trancozelos's goalkeeper Alexandre Neves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Xavier Assis fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Trancozelos's protests and gave Xavier Assis a yellow card for diving instead. Xavier Assis hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Albertino Guerreiro got free with Nuno Torres in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the Trancozelos defense, Sérgio Cardoso kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alexandre Neves. The Trancozelos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alexandre Neves should have stopped the shot. Sérgio Cardoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexandre Neves having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jorge Almeida made a kick off. 55 minutes into the match, Albertino Guerreiro notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of SC Verigo's Nuno Torres. Nuno Torres was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 60th minute, Jorge Almeida got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jorge Almeida might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nuno Torres. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jorge Almeida ran back to his position shaking his head. Albertino Guerreiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nuno Torres having to interfere. Jorge Almeida recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Albertino Guerreiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. SC Verigo's Nuno Torres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albertino Guerreiro in the 77th minute of play. Nuno Torres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albertino Guerreiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. António Magalhães's late challenge caught a Trancozelos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. António Magalhães helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, SC Verigo's António Magalhães got a free kick in the 82nd minute. When Trancozelos's Jorge Almeida in the 83rd minute got a chance for a shot 83rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Alexandre Neves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Verigo. In the 92nd minute, Albertino Guerreiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sérgio Cardoso struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Alexandre Neves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Verigo. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
