The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

After having played for 54 minutes, João Pires managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cavaloes's supporters crossed their fingers, but João Pires was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Carlos Ferreira took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 56th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for João Gonçalves. Sintrao FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. João Gonçalves made an important save on a dangerous shot by João Pires in the 61st minute. Albertino Pinto's late challenge caught a Sintrao FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sintrao FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
