When Alexandre Leiria came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the SC Malhada fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexandre Leiria couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nuno Simões in the 39th minute of play forced SC Malhada's goalkeeper André Guerreiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nuno Simões fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without André Guerreiro having to interfere. After 56 minutes, Óscar Martins mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Malhada and the Formela FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. André Guerreiro had in the 77thth minute some difficulties stopping Hugo Faria's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Humberto Tavares got free with David Anjos in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 85th minute Alexandre Leiria shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Anjos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nuno Simões's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but André Guerreiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. After having played for 90 minutes, Manuel Vale managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Malhada's supporters crossed their fingers, but Manuel Vale was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Humberto Tavares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mariano Azevedo during the 97th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
