After having played for 2 minutes, Paulo Gueifão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Rebola's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulo Gueifão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gustavo Baptista struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Jorge Leão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Rebola. Jorge Leão made an important save on a dangerous shot by David Brito in the 5th minute. With an all-out effort, SC Rebola's Jorge Leão threw himself towards the right post 9 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Paulo Gueifão, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. With a little luck, SC Ursulinas's Jorge Leão got control of the ball when David Brito tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jorge Leão was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but David Brito showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 11 minute of play. Vicente Gaspar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viriato Abreu, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. After 18 minutes, Mário Carvalho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Ursulinas and the SC Rebola players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in SC Ursulinas fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 17th minute. Penalty! In the 19th minute, SC Rebola got a penalty, and Joaquim Guarda placed the ball unsaveable into goal, by the right post. After a rather tough play, SC Rebola's Cândido Jesus got a free kick in the 22nd minute. In the 27th minute, Gustavo Baptista hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. David Brito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Leão having to interfere. A collision led to SC Ursulinas getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Paulo Moreira hit a great ball. Paulo Gueifão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Jorge Leão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Paulo Gueifão to make the kick off. When SC Rebola's Paulo Gueifão in 51 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Jorge Leão guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. SC Ursulinas's Jorge Leão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Brito in the 54th minute of play. 57 minutes into the match, SC Rebola's Paulo Gueifão sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jorge Leão narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Ursulinas's goalkeeper Jorge Leão, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Nuno Reis hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. David Brito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 66th minute Paulo Gueifão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge Leão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Paulo Gueifão came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the SC Rebola fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulo Gueifão couldn't finish the play. The supporters of SC Rebola booed when SC Ursulinas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo Moreira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vicente Gaspar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viriato Abreu in the 74th minute of the match. In the 76th minute, Cândido Jesus had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. Paulo Moreira's late challenge caught a SC Rebola's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Paulo Moreira helped the player get up and apologised. If Viriato Abreu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Miguel Fernandes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. SC Rebola's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
