The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 10th match minute, Vermelho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filipe Assunção to maneuver through the defense. Miguel Fernandes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 13th minute, David Viana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pedro Fonseca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Miguel Fernandes in the 23rd minute of play. António Neves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Filipe Machado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Leão having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Filipe Machado to make the kick off. Miguel Fernandes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Pedro Fonseca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Viriato Abreu couldn't finish the play. Miguel Fernandes who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 91stth minute tested the skills of Pedro Fonseca when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched SC Ursulinas eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
