But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lucas Miranda couldn't finish the play. 17 minutes into the match, Amarante FC's goal looked a bit too open when Sandro Maia came free, but Mariano Alves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pinelo FC's Manuel Aguiar was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Mariano Alves in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The supporters of Amarante FC booed when Pinelo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nuno Luz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 45 played minutes Amarante FC got a freekick which was hit by Humberto Paiva. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sandro Maia in the 48th minute of play forced Amarante FC's goalkeeper Mariano Alves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gil Leite made a kick off. Bento Queirós charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mariano Alves showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 65 played minutes Pinelo FC got a freekick which was hit by Lucas Miranda. Mariano Alves was out of position in the 67 minute of play, and Lucas Miranda capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Lucas Miranda really showed his touch with that goal: 0-1. Gil Leite fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vítor Freitas having to interfere. Miguel Amorim kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. If Gil Leite had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 90 minutes into the game, Carlos Torres was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pinelo FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Amarante FC the free kick. After 91 played minutes Pinelo FC got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Torres. In the 93rd minute, Gil Leite got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Pinelo FC's Lucas Miranda got a good chance for a goal in the 98th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
