The referee ignored Palhava's protests and gave Tomás Faria a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of SC Serro booed when Palhava was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomás Faria didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Eusébio Anjos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Palhava's goalkeeper Joaquim Simões, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
