SC Malhadinhas's Humberto Alves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Delfim Matias in the 9th minute of play. SC Malhadinhas were awarded a corner in the 12th minute after SC Juvandes's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Hélder Mota took the corner. SC Malhadinhas's Hélder Mota was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Pedro Marques in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When the match had gone on for 15 minutes, Jorge Freitas put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Pedro Marques. After a defensive mix-up in SC Malhadinhas's zone, David Santarém stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. The audience was convinced that Delfim Matias's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Humberto Alves was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. 23 minutes into the match, SC Malhadinhas's goalkeeper Humberto Alves had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by David Santarém. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sérgio Simões to strike the kick off in the second half. After 53 minutes, Oliveira Miranda mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Juvandes and the SC Malhadinhas players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, SC Juvandes's Oliveira Miranda got a free kick in the 53rd minute. If Delfim Matias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jorge Freitas in the 58thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Pedro Marques, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save.
