In the 53rd minute, Miguel Vale hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 55 minutes Ganados's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Domingos Lima who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Ganados's goalie and right to Óscar Bessa. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Ganados's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Manuel Amaro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Dantas, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristóvão Macedo in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lúcio Borges saved Sirgueiros from getting behind. Daniel Veiga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Manuel Amaro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Dantas in the 79th minute of play. Paulo Dantas struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Hugo Borges fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Amaro having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Sirgueiros fans cheered their team off the field, for while Ganados had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
