With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cláudio Matias in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Albertino Simões saved SC Piais from getting behind. Albertino Simões showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cláudio Matias in the 14th minute of the match. With a little luck, SC Tangil's José Guerreiro got control of the ball when Basílio Cardoso tried to sneak it across the goal line. David Castro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. José Guerreiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that João Faro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Albertino Simões was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Basílio Cardoso got free with José Guerreiro in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The referee ignored SC Piais's protests and gave Raul Macedo a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of SC Tangil booed when SC Piais was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raul Macedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cláudio Matias was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 60th minute. SC Tangil's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Cláudio Matias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Basílio Cardoso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If João Faro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
