Adelino Matos took the ball and in the 4 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Viriato Martins. Viriato Martins dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. A collision led to Estalagem getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Afonso Reis hit a great ball. If Filipe Borba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. António Simões showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lúcio Esteves in the 19th minute of the match. The supporters of Estalagem booed when SC Tavarede was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adelino Nunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. António Simões took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Moutinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Diogo Rodrigues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. António Simões tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. António Simões showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Moutinho in the 30th minute of the match. Adelino Matos who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 33rdth minute tested the skills of Viriato Martins when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Diogo Rodrigues fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without António Simões having to interfere. In the 41st minute of the match Afonso Reis shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but António Simões showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Filipe Bessa during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 43rd minute, Filipe Bessa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Adelino Matos managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Tavarede's supporters rose to their feet, but Adelino Matos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Viriato Martins breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 49th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Tavarede's goalkeeper António Simões, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Adelino Matos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. António Simões stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Diogo Rodrigues's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. Pedro Moutinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, SC Tavarede's Filipe Borba got a free kick in the 62nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adelino Matos in the 65th minute of play forced Estalagem's goalkeeper Viriato Martins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. SC Tavarede's António Simões proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save SC Tavarede from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Estalagem's zone, Adelino Matos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Viriato Martins came out of the goal and Adelino Matos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 80th minute, Filipe Borba left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Tavarede fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Adelino Matos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Estalagem's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
