António Fontes was left in no man's land by his defense there! 23 minutes into the match, Ervedeiros FC's goal looked a bit too open when Duarte Simões came free, but António Fontes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 23 played minutes Ervedeiros FC got a freekick which was hit by Américo Reis. Afonso Dias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without António Fontes having to interfere. 27 minutes into the match, Alentejo FC's Duarte Simões sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that António Fontes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Afonso Dias got free with António Fontes in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Carlos Amorim was shown his second yellow card after 33 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Fernando Tavares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nuno Domingues in the 65th minute of play. Cláudio Assis succeeded in the game's 66th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1. Afonso Dias might have been able to make a better finish in the 72nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over António Fontes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Afonso Dias ran back to his position shaking his head. Afonso Dias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nuno Domingues showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. Duarte Simões's late challenge caught a Ervedeiros FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Duarte Simões helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Alentejo FC getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Duarte Simões hit a great ball. Alentejo FC's Fernando Tavares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Alentejo FC from getting a goal against them. In the 92nd minute of the match, Nuno Domingues tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Fernando Tavares saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Fernando Tavares didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cláudio Assis went, in the 93rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. The Alentejo FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Ervedeiros FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Ervedeiros FC.
