Abel Paiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 10 minutes into the match, SC Prilhao's goal looked a bit too open when Amadeu Trindade came free, but Abel Paiva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Abel Paiva stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Amadeu Trindade's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. Rafael Miranda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abel Paiva having to interfere. The supporters of Assenta booed when SC Prilhao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gonçalo Henriques didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gabriel Cunha lost his temper 19 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Joel Henriques showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Simões in the 29th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Filipe Lopes in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joel Henriques prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Alberto Simões managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Prilhao's supporters rose to their feet, but Alberto Simões was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joel Henriques breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Filipe Lopes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cristiano Mota during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Assenta's Rafael Miranda got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Filipe Lopes to make the kick off. Assenta's Rafael Miranda got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Assenta's Alfredo Domingues got a free kick in the 64th minute. The audience cheered when Gaspar Cunha's long shot passed Joel Henriques's right side. It was 0-2, 65 minutes into the match. Joel Henriques took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Filipe Lopes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Rafael Miranda's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Abel Paiva was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. In the 83rd minute, Alberto Simões got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Joel Henriques showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Filipe Lopes, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute.
