After 10 played minutes Assenta got a freekick which was hit by Alfredo Domingues. After a rather tough play, Assenta's Alexandre Gomes got a free kick in the 13th minute. In the 15th match minute, Assenta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexandre Gomes to maneuver through the defense. When Daniel Magalhães came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the SC Morais fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Magalhães couldn't finish the play. After 17 played minutes Assenta got a freekick which was hit by Cristiano Mota. Rafael Miranda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Filipe Marques tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Assenta defense, André Coelho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joel Henriques. The Assenta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joel Henriques should have stopped the shot. Amadeu Trindade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Filipe Marques tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, André Coelho managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Morais's supporters rose to their feet, but André Coelho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joel Henriques breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 41 minutes into the match, SC Morais's Daniel Magalhães sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joel Henriques narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 44 minutes, Alexandre Gomes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Assenta and the SC Morais players grew even worse after the yellow card. André Coelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 64 played minutes Assenta got a freekick which was hit by Alexandre Gomes. Filipe Marques acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 67th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Paulo Coelho. When Daniel Magalhães came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the SC Morais fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Magalhães couldn't finish the play.
