But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Domingos Pinho couldn't finish the play. In the 17th minute Amílcar Amaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mariano Ferreira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adolfo Miranda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Baptista having to interfere. Amílcar Amaro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Domingos Pinho got in the 34th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Mariano Ferreira handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Fernando Baptista didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gonçalo Borba went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Valizelos's Gonçalo Borba got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Adolfo Miranda stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Fernando Baptista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gonçalo Borba in the 55th minute of the match. Mariano Ferreira was a little too slow when Domingos Pinho got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 57th minute. The score was now 1-2. Duarte Araújo kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. In the 65th minute, Gonçalo Borba got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 68 minutes into the match, Coronado's Domingos Pinho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mariano Ferreira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 69th minute, Carlos Soares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Miguel Lopes struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Mariano Ferreira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Coronado. José Lopes kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match.
