Bernardo Andrade hit a great ball. 15 minutes into the game, Bernardo Andrade was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Catarino Fernandes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joaquim Pereira, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Catarino Fernandes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 36 minutes of play, Macos's Joaquim Pereira made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Catarino Fernandes was left in no man's land by his defense there! José Figueiredo might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nuno Tavares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. José Figueiredo ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Macos's Nuno Tavares got control of the ball when Manuel Nogueira tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 44th minute of the match, José Figueiredo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Nuno Tavares saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Catarino Fernandes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joaquim Pereira's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. A collision led to SC Avarenta getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Rogério Carneiro hit a great ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joaquim Pereira was the one to do the kick off. Joaquim Pereira tried in the 52nd minute to hit away a contribution but miss-kicked the ball which ended up in his own goal and left an unhappy Catarino Fernandes a with quite unnecessary self made goal. In the 78th minute, Jorge Leal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jorge Leal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Catarino Fernandes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 89th minute, Raul Cardoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Macos's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
