Nuno Fontes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 12 minutes had been played when some careless play by Carpinteiras FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. José Torres was slow to take the kick. During this time Zimbral's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in José Torres almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Carpinteiras FC's Bruno Pinto did a great save. The audience was convinced that Rogério Vaz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bruno Pinto was relentless in the 14th minute of the game. Rogério Vaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rui Antunes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomás Araújo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nuno Fontes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Pinto having to interfere. The supporters of Zimbral booed when Carpinteiras FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gil Moniz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 30th minute of the match José Torres shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bruno Pinto showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 32 minutes into the game, Jacinto Luz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Rui Antunes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Rui Antunes was out of position in the 36 minute of play, and Tomás Araújo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Tomás Araújo really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. 39 minutes into the match, Carpinteiras FC's goal looked a bit too open when Nuno Fontes came free, but Bruno Pinto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Rogério Vaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Carpinteiras FC's Bruno Pinto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rogério Vaz in the 44th minute of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nuno Fontes to strike the kick off in the second half. Nuno Fontes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Pinto having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Carpinteiras FC's zone, Nuno Fontes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bruno Pinto came out of the goal and Nuno Fontes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. António Resende kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. If Tomás Araújo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 67th match minute, Zimbral was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by António Resende to maneuver through the defense. After 70 minutes Zimbral's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gil Moniz who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Gil Moniz almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Zimbral's Rui Antunes did a great save. Rui Antunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomás Araújo in the 71st minute of play. Jacinto Luz struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Rui Antunes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carpinteiras FC. Tomás Araújo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Rui Antunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 77th minute Jacinto Luz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rui Antunes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rui Antunes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomás Araújo in the 78th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nuno Fontes in the 83rd minute of play forced Carpinteiras FC's goalkeeper Bruno Pinto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. António Resende charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed António Resende the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 87th match minute, Zimbral was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by António Resende to maneuver through the defense. Rui Antunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jacinto Luz in the 90th minute of play. 96 minutes into the game, Carpinteiras FC's Jacinto Luz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rui Antunes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Carpinteiras FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Zimbral had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
