Filipe Setúbal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diamantino Aguiar having to interfere. 7 minutes into the game, Delfim Silva was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Maladao FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Moucos the free kick. Delfim Silva kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. When Afonso Queirós fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Maladao FC's protests and gave Afonso Queirós a yellow card for diving instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Filipe Setúbal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Moucos's supporters rose to their feet, but Filipe Setúbal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Diamantino Aguiar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 18 played minutes Moucos got a freekick which was hit by Vítor Soares. If Nuno Coimbra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nuno Coimbra struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Luís Morais didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maladao FC. Moucos's Luís Morais proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Moucos from getting a goal against them. When Paulo Abreu fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Moucos's protests and gave Paulo Abreu a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Moucos getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Paulo Abreu hit a great ball. Luís Morais showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nuno Coimbra, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. When Vítor Soares fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Moucos's protests and gave Vítor Soares a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Moucos getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Vítor Soares hit a great ball. In the 35th minute Nuno Coimbra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Morais saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Heitor Morais's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 40thth minute, Luís Morais skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Luís Morais showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nuno Coimbra in the 41st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Moucos's Vítor Soares got a free kick in the 42nd minute. In the 43rd minute, Heitor Morais got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 47th match minute, Maladao FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manuel Teixeira to maneuver through the defense. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Filipe Setúbal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Vítor Soares was shown his second yellow card after 56 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Heitor Morais in the 60th minute of play forced Moucos's goalkeeper Luís Morais to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 62nd minute, Luís Gonçalves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Filipe Setúbal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Diamantino Aguiar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Luís Gonçalves came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Moucos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luís Gonçalves couldn't finish the play. If Paulo Gueifão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Maladao FC booed when Moucos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo Abreu didn't get a good kick on the ball.
