Óscar Luz started the match with the kick off. Américo Paiva made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Armindo Leal sent off a good shot on target. When Manuel Aleixo fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sisimbra's protests and gave Manuel Aleixo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 4th match minute, Sisimbra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manuel Aleixo to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Óscar Luz managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Airas's supporters rose to their feet, but Óscar Luz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Américo Paiva breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Armindo Leal struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Américo Paiva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Airas. After a rather tough play, Sisimbra's Francisco Guarda got a free kick in the 11th minute. Américo Paiva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Óscar Luz in the 16th minute of the match. After 25 minutes, Júlio Araújo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Airas and the Sisimbra players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 24 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for SC Airas! The referee gave Sisimbra a penalty, 26 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Adolfo Nogueira, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of SC Airas's Pedro Lopes. 0-1. If Lucas Ferreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Pedro Lopes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hélder Bessa went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Américo Paiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armindo Leal in the 77th minute of play. 78 minutes into the game, SC Airas's Armindo Leal nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Américo Paiva made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Hélder Bessa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 88th match minute, SC Airas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexandre Carneiro to maneuver through the defense. SC Airas's Pedro Lopes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucas Ferreira in the 90th minute of play. Sisimbra were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over SC Airas's much stronger midfield.
