André Paiva charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Pedro Lopes had in the 5thth minute some difficulties stopping Cláudio Pedroso's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After 7 played minutes SC Airas got a freekick which was hit by Óscar Luz. If Albertino Neto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 12 minutes, Alexandre Carneiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Airas and the Abreiro players grew even worse after the yellow card. Alexandre Carneiro hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. After having played for 13 minutes, Nuno Monteiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Abreiro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nuno Monteiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 17th minute Óscar Luz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Delfim Nogueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro Lopes was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Diogo Azevedo. 21 minutes into the match, Abreiro's Albertino Neto sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pedro Lopes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Nuno Monteiro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pedro Lopes was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. In the 26th match minute, SC Airas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafael Azevedo to maneuver through the defense. Rafael Azevedo hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Albertino Neto's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 40thth minute, Pedro Lopes skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Albertino Neto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Lopes having to interfere. SC Airas's Pedro Lopes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save SC Airas from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Albertino Neto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Abreiro's supporters rose to their feet, but Albertino Neto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Lopes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
The wind increased when Nuno Monteiro made the kick off in the second half. Pedro Lopes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Albertino Neto in the 54th minute of the match. Óscar Luz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The corner ended in Cláudio Pedroso almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but SC Airas's Pedro Lopes did a great save. After some careless play in the SC Airas defense, Nuno Monteiro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Lopes. The SC Airas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Lopes should have stopped the shot. Abreiro's Delfim Nogueira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Abreiro from getting a goal against them. Óscar Luz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Abreiro's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
