If João Resende had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Delfim Leal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristiano Vaz, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. After a rather tough play, Alvem FC's Sandro Vieira got a free kick in the 17th minute. 18 minutes into the match, João Resende had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Delfim Leal. Alvem FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that João Resende was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 20th minute, Cristiano Vaz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. António Martins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Viriato Teixeira in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Delfim Leal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, Viriato Teixeira put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Delfim Leal. The audience thought a goal was coming when António Martins got free with Basílio Costa in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 45 minutes into the match, Alvem FC's goal looked a bit too open when Viriato Teixeira came free, but Delfim Leal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Viriato Teixeira was the one to do the kick off.
