Oliveira Brás tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 5 played minutes SC Falgueiras got a freekick which was hit by Amadeu Moreira. In the 8th minute of the match SC Susao got a corner. SC Falgueiras's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. João Silva ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 10th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Falgueiras's goalkeeper Oliveira Brás, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Joel Brás might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Oliveira Brás. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joel Brás ran back to his position shaking his head. Jorge Lisboa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Oliveira Brás having to make a save. Oliveira Brás made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorge Lisboa in the 20th minute of play. If Amadeu Moreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Simão Dias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amadeu Moreira in the 40th minute of play. If Amadeu Moreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, SC Susao's Simão Dias got control of the ball when Augusto Ferro tried to sneak it across the goal line. 46 minutes into the game, Rui Vieira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Falgueiras's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Susao the free kick. In the 47th minute, Rui Vieira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Brás made a kick off. Paulo Neves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Simão Dias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The SC Falgueiras fans' excitement grew in the 57th match minute when SC Falgueiras's Amadeu Moreira looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Brás in the 61st minute of play forced SC Falgueiras's goalkeeper Oliveira Brás to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Amadeu Moreira might have been able to make a better finish in the 72nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Simão Dias. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Amadeu Moreira ran back to his position shaking his head. Simão Dias came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by SC Falgueiras's Augusto Ferro. But to his dismay, Augusto Ferro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Augusto Ferro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simão Dias having to interfere. Augusto Ferro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Amadeu Moreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jorge Lisboa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 98th minute of the match, but Oliveira Brás made a huge save.
