With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vítor Almeida in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Delfim Viegas saved Vinhas from getting behind. In the 13thth minute of the game Delfim Carneiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vinhas's Delfim Viegas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Joaquim Neto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tiago Vieira in the 19th minute of the match. The supporters of Vinhas booed when SC Belfeiro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Amorim didn't get a good kick on the ball. Augusto Leiria recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tiago Vieira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to SC Belfeiro getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Carlos Amorim hit a great ball. 29 minutes into the match, SC Belfeiro's goal looked a bit too open when Tiago Vieira came free, but Joaquim Neto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Filipe Queirós during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 30th minute, one of SC Belfeiro:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for SC Belfeiro. The referee gave Vinhas a penalty, 32 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Júlio Porto, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of SC Belfeiro's Joaquim Neto. 1-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vítor Almeida in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Delfim Viegas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Delfim Viegas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vítor Almeida, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. In the 44th minute Vítor Almeida shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Delfim Viegas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When André Paiva fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vinhas's protests and gave André Paiva a yellow card for diving instead. André Paiva hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tiago Vieira was the one to do the kick off. Vinhas's Delfim Viegas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Delfim Carneiro in the 54th minute of play. 57 minutes into the game, Vítor Almeida cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Delfim Viegas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Tiago Vieira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. The referee gave André Paiva a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After having played for 79 minutes, Delfim Carneiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Belfeiro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Delfim Carneiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Vinhas getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Raul Paiva hit a great ball. Delfim Viegas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vítor Almeida in the 86th minute. After a rather tough play, Vinhas's Fernando Mendes got a free kick in the 87th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Cláudio Amorim managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vinhas's supporters rose to their feet, but Cláudio Amorim was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joaquim Neto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 98 minutes into the match, SC Belfeiro's Delfim Carneiro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Delfim Viegas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Vinhas lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
