When José Mendes came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Retorta FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Mendes couldn't finish the play. 9 minutes into the match, Corteses's goal looked a bit too open when José Mendes came free, but Mário Guarda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Miguel Pedroso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Retorta FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Miguel Pedroso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mário Guarda breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Miguel Pedroso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Mário Guarda made a huge save. Albertino Antunes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Afonso Delgado's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. If Miguel Pedroso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mário Guarda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Mendes in the 22nd minute of play. Albertino Antunes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Afonso Delgado, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amílcar Castro in the 26th minute of play forced Retorta FC's goalkeeper Albertino Antunes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Afonso Delgado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 29th minute Amílcar Castro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albertino Antunes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mário Guarda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miguel Pedroso in the 60th minute of the match. After having played for 65 minutes, Afonso Delgado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Corteses's supporters crossed their fingers, but Afonso Delgado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Afonso Delgado was extremely unlucky when he, in the 68th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Albertino Antunes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amílcar Castro, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Afonso Delgado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 75 minutes, Amílcar Castro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. In the 84th minute, Miguel Pedroso ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mário Guarda was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Albertino Antunes made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Afonso Delgado sent off a good shot on target. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Corteses's goalkeeper Mário Guarda, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. José Mendes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Corteses players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Retorta FC from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
