The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joaquim Moreira during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 20th match minute, SC Faldejais was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joaquim Moreira to maneuver through the defense. 27 minutes into the match, Condeixa's goalkeeper José Faro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jaime Melo. Armando Ferro might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eusébio Vaz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Armando Ferro ran back to his position shaking his head. Eusébio Vaz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Afonso Cunha in the 31st minute of play. Afonso Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Condeixa's José Faro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Condeixa from getting a goal against them. Condeixa's José Faro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquim Moreira in the 41st minute of play. Jaime Melo came free with the goalkeeper in the 43rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and José Faro could save by the left post. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joaquim Moreira to make the kick off. The supporters of SC Faldejais booed when Condeixa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Fontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 54 minutes, Joaquim Moreira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Faldejais's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joaquim Moreira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A hard shot 63 in the game by Armando Ferro from a close distance when the talented Eusébio Vaz managed to make a qualified save. SC Faldejais's players were relieved. SC Faldejais's Jaime Melo got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to SC Faldejais getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. David Henriques hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Afonso Cunha in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eusébio Vaz saved SC Faldejais from getting behind. A collision led to Condeixa getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Jorge Fontes hit a great ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Condeixa had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
