Manuel Anjos lost his temper 7 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 6th minute, one of Estaleiro FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Estaleiro FC. If António Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alexandre Pinho struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Eduardo Moniz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Estaleiro FC. Estaleiro FC's António Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 26th match minute, Estaleiro FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gaspar Machado to maneuver through the defense. When Hélder Bessa came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Coina fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hélder Bessa couldn't finish the play. After 31 played minutes Estaleiro FC got a freekick which was hit by Afonso Leal. In the 32nd minute, Hélder Bessa sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Estaleiro FC's Ricardo Pinheiro didn't even have to move. Eduardo Moniz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexandre Pinho in the 37th minute of play. Emílio Baptista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Pinheiro having to interfere. With a little luck, Estaleiro FC's Ricardo Pinheiro got control of the ball when Fernando Brás tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ricardo Pinheiro was a little too slow when Fernando Brás got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 43rd minute. The score was now 2-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emílio Baptista to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Emílio Baptista managed to get in a good position for a shot. Coina's supporters rose to their feet, but Emílio Baptista was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ricardo Pinheiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fernando Brás fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Pinheiro having to interfere. Emílio Baptista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Estaleiro FC's zone, Fernando Brás stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricardo Pinheiro came out of the goal and Fernando Brás tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 58th minute, Viriato Moutinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 64 minutes into the match, Estaleiro FC's goal looked a bit too open when Emílio Baptista came free, but Ricardo Pinheiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 67th minute Fernando Brás shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Pinheiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Diogo Tavares helped the player get up and apologised. Fernando Brás might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ricardo Pinheiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fernando Brás ran back to his position shaking his head. 85 minutes into the game, Alexandre Pinho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Eduardo Moniz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Estaleiro FC's Ricardo Pinheiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emílio Baptista in the 95th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Coina had won after a very even match.
