The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fernando Brito during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Fernando Brito kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. After 7th play minutes Paulo Alves shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Fábio Vale and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 12th minute, SC Durraes's Sérgio Queirós dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. In the 15th minute of the match Diogo Machado shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lourenço Costa showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Sérgio Queirós received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Lourenço Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lourenço Costa didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 18th minute, which inside left pole to 2-1. When Vicente Dias fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Serreleis's protests and gave Vicente Dias a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, SC Serreleis's Vicente Dias got a free kick in the 34th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paulo Alves in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fábio Vale prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Sérgio Queirós had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sérgio Queirós was the one to do the kick off. Joaquim Baptista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Lourenço Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Sérgio Queirós had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Sérgio Queirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lourenço Costa having to interfere. Lourenço Costa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joaquim Baptista, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. 69 minutes into the match, SC Durraes's goalkeeper Fábio Vale had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paulo Alves. A collision led to SC Serreleis getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. José Coimbra hit a great ball. Miguel Assunção, 77 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The supporters of SC Durraes booed when SC Serreleis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vicente Dias didn't get a good kick on the ball. 90 minutes into the game, SC Durraes's Sérgio Queirós nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lourenço Costa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Sérgio Queirós received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Lourenço Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. SC Durraes fully deserved thier win.
