In the 3rd minute Gaspar Cruz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gil Simões saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Domingos Sousa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Terreiro's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gaspar Cruz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. The supporters of Terreiro booed when Minhocal FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lúcio Gaspar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joaquim Amorim's late challenge caught a Minhocal FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joaquim Amorim helped the player get up and apologised. After 32 played minutes Terreiro got a freekick which was hit by Joaquim Amorim. Gaspar Cruz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gil Simões having to interfere. When Jacinto Torres fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Terreiro's protests and gave Jacinto Torres a yellow card for diving instead. Jacinto Torres kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. After having played for 44 minutes, Domingos Sousa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Minhocal FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Domingos Sousa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gaspar Cruz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gil Simões read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ricardo Leite made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Minhocal FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jacinto Torres came free, but Ricardo Setúbal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco Sousa in the 53rd minute of play forced Minhocal FC's goalkeeper Ricardo Setúbal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When José Delgado fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Minhocal FC's protests and gave José Delgado a yellow card for diving instead. Ricardo Leite received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Ricardo Setúbal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. José Delgado hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Terreiro's Gustavo Pinto tried to score from far away in the 60th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. When Joaquim Amorim was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 63 minutes had been played. After 64 played minutes Terreiro got a freekick which was hit by Joaquim Amorim. The audience was convinced that Gaspar Cruz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gil Simões was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Terreiro's goalkeeper Gil Simões, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Terreiro's Marco Sousa got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Amílcar Castro struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Ricardo Setúbal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Terreiro. If Domingos Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 78th minute, Terreiro's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Domingos Sousa fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When Gaspar Cruz came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Minhocal FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gaspar Cruz couldn't finish the play. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Minhocal FC's goalkeeper Ricardo Setúbal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Marco Sousa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ricardo Setúbal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. Gaspar Cruz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 90thth minute of the game Gaspar Cruz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Terreiro's Gil Simões was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Minhocal FC's Gaspar Cruz got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Terreiro supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Minhocal FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Minhocal FC.
