Rogério Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vítor Luz having to interfere. Vítor Luz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rogério Silva, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. After some careless play in the SC Moredo defense, Vasco Neves kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Augusto Paredes. The SC Moredo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Augusto Paredes should have stopped the shot. In the 13th minute of the match Afonso Cabral shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vítor Luz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 13 played minutes SC Mourisca got a freekick which was hit by Tomás Ribeiro. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Rogério Silva managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Moredo's supporters rose to their feet, but Rogério Silva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vítor Luz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Viriato Paredes struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Augusto Paredes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Mourisca. In the 29th match minute, SC Moredo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vicente Fonseca to maneuver through the defense. SC Moredo's Augusto Paredes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viriato Paredes in the 37th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Heitor Resende in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. It was a well-played corner which António Leal managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Mourisca's goalkeeper Vítor Luz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Vítor Luz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rogério Silva in the 56th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Duarte Campos during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Heitor Resende managed to get in a good position for a shot.
