The audience was convinced that André Matias's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Henrique Azevedo was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for André Matias to strike the kick off in the second half. Cabecudos FC's Jacinto Santos got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. André Matias's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Henrique Azevedo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. Jacinto Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Óscar Amaro in the 59th minute of play forced Cabecudos FC's goalkeeper Joaquim Pacheco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 61st minute, Xavier Henriques hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joaquim Pacheco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Óscar Amaro in the 64th minute of play. In the 67th match minute, Cabecudos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filipe Valente to maneuver through the defense. Miguel Moniz, 68 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Jacinto Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Henrique Azevedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Urmal FC's zone, Jacinto Santos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Henrique Azevedo came out of the goal and Jacinto Santos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as André Matias kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Henrique Azevedo. That made the score 1-1 in the 80 minute of play. If Joel Macedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. André Matias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henrique Azevedo having to interfere. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
