Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Avessada's André Miranda started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Avessada's Rui Ribeiro got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Joel Cardoso fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Avessada's protests and gave Joel Cardoso a yellow card for diving instead. Joel Cardoso hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. André Abreu acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 8th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Gustavo Magalhães. After having played for 10 minutes, Rui Ribeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Avessada's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rui Ribeiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Afonso Resende hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Albertino Vieira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without André Abreu having to interfere. In the 16th minute, Jaime Matos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lúcio Ramos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from André Miranda in the 21st minute of the match. Lúcio Ramos came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Avessada's Rui Ribeiro. But to his dismay, Rui Ribeiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. André Miranda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Lúcio Ramos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Albertino Vieira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without André Abreu having to interfere. André Miranda struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Lúcio Ramos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Avessada. Lúcio Ramos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rui Ribeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rui Ribeiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Lúcio Ramos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rui Ribeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Oia FC's Albertino Vieira got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nuno Figueiredo to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Oia FC's goal looked a bit too open when André Miranda came free, but Lúcio Ramos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lúcio Ramos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of André Miranda's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nuno Figueiredo in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck André Abreu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alfredo Reis's late challenge caught a Oia FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alfredo Reis helped the player get up and apologised. After 60 played minutes Avessada got a freekick which was hit by Alfredo Reis. Paulo Macedo kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. André Abreu came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Oia FC's Nuno Figueiredo. But to his dismay, Nuno Figueiredo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. If Nuno Figueiredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 82nd minute, Albertino Vieira made a precise shot to the right of André Abreu. Avessada's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. 88 minutes into the match, Oia FC's goalkeeper Lúcio Ramos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rui Ribeiro. Rui Ribeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Avessada's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
