Eduardo Pinheiro's late challenge caught a Freixo FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Paulo Assunção made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mossamedes's goalkeeper Paulo Assunção, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 88 minutes into the match, Mossamedes's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Correia came free, but Paulo Assunção reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mossamedes's Álvaro Moreira got his second yellow card of the match in the 88th minute. The referee ordered Álvaro Moreira off the ground.
