Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Carlos Trindade made the kick off which started today's match. After having played for 5 minutes, Carlos Trindade managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vinheiros's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Trindade was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hugo Dantas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Santarém, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. The supporters of Vau FC booed when Vinheiros was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mariano Sousa didn't get a good kick on the ball. 13 minutes had been played when some careless play by Vinheiros's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Júlio Leiria was slow to take the kick. During this time Vau FC's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Júlio Leiria got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Hugo Dantas quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Carlos Santarém received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Hugo Dantas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Vau FC's Simão Branco got a free kick in the 18th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carlos Trindade in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vasco Guerreiro saved Vau FC from getting behind. Nuno Miranda did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Vasco Guerreiro 28 minutes into the match. In the 31st minute, Gil Dias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 32 minutes of play, Vau FC's Gustavo Alves made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hugo Dantas was left in no man's land by his defense there! Carlos Trindade fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vasco Guerreiro having to interfere. Gustavo Alves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo Dantas having to interfere. Nuno Miranda came free with the goalkeeper in the 49th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Vasco Guerreiro could save by the left post. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carlos Santarém to make the kick off. If Carlos Trindade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nuno Miranda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 71 minutes into the match, Vau FC's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Trindade came free, but Vasco Guerreiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Nuno Miranda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Trindade in the 75th minute of play forced Vau FC's goalkeeper Vasco Guerreiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Vinheiros's Emílio Branco got a free kick in the 79th minute. In the 80th minute of the match Júlio Leiria sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hugo Dantas skillfully saved the ball. In the 84th minute Carlos Santarém shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Dantas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nuno Miranda struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Vasco Guerreiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vinheiros. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 88th minute of the game. One of Vau FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Vinheiros:s goal. 91 minutes had been played when some careless play by Vau FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gil Matias was slow to take the kick. During this time Vinheiros's players had a chance to rest. Vasco Guerreiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Trindade in the 94th minute of play. Carlos Santarém sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
