In the 5th minute of the match, Ricardo Aleixo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Bento Fernandes saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Miguel Baptista could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Bento Fernandes made a huge save. Rogério Ramos kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. If Bruno Mota had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, Ricardo Aleixo put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Bento Fernandes. An unexpected shot in the 26th minute by Miguel Baptista got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Bruno Mota fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filipe Bessa having to interfere. In the 36th minute, Miguel Baptista ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bento Fernandes was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacinto Sousa in the 39th minute of play forced Gradiz's goalkeeper Filipe Bessa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 41 minutes of play, Gradiz's Miguel Baptista made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bento Fernandes was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in Gradiz's zone, Bruno Mota stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Filipe Bessa came out of the goal and Bruno Mota tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jacinto Sousa was the one to do the kick off. Jacinto Sousa received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Filipe Bessa came out and tried to block the shot, but Jacinto Sousa slotted it home off the left post making it 3-1 in the 54th minute. Jacinto Sousa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Filipe Bessa having to make a save. Miguel Baptista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bento Fernandes having to interfere. Ricardo Aleixo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bento Fernandes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. Luís Santos kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Gradiz's Filipe Bessa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Gradiz from getting a goal against them. Ricardo Aleixo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Filipe Bessa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacinto Sousa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Quarteira FC booed when Gradiz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Brito didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jacinto Sousa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filipe Bessa having to interfere. Rui Cruz hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. After 94 minutes of play, Gradiz's Ricardo Aleixo made it 4-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bento Fernandes was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Gradiz had won after a very even match.
